Kohei Nawa was born in 1975 in Osaka, Japan, and is currently based in Kyoto. The park is a key component of our daily life and a place for social communication. Ether symbolizes the relation between space and lives, and the energy used to defy gravity. Through an exploration of the physical manifestations of gravity, the work consists of a 3-dimensional visualization of highly-viscous liquids in a solid state, translated at the moment these are dripping downward. The artist notes: “The interaction between the forces of gravity and energy is applicable to life on earth. Plants, for example, spread their roots on the ground and grow towards the sky”.
